President Bill Clinton from the White House on May 16, 1997, gave a formal apology to those involved in the Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in Black Males, the “longest non-therapeutic experiment on human beings” in the history of medicine and public health.

According to Britannica, “That study, conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Public Health Service at Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) in Tuskegee, Alabama, was originally projected to last six months but spanned 40 years—from 1932 to 1972.”

Now those like, Lillie Tyson Head, daughter of Freddie Lee Tyson, have founded,Voices for Our Fathers Legacy Foundation, in which Ms. Head is President.  They are currently seeking members, for only $20 annually, and members do not have to be related to someone impacted by the Tuskegee Experiment.
