A Minnesota police officer has been charged after punching a 14-year-old girl in the face twice after she spit on him despite being handcuffed in the back of a police car.
St. Paul Police Officer Michael Soucheray, 38, was charged with misdemeanor assault and was put on administrative leave.
According to Fox 9, his attorney, Peter Wold, said he acted in self-defense and responded with reasonable force.
“He did what he needed to do to protect himself and his partner.”
