Detroit's Broken-Down Buses Strand Riders As City Faces TakeoverThe Amalgamated Transit Union, which represents The City of Detroit Bus Drivers, (DDOT) will be holding a rally Monday 10/21/13 @ 10:00 AM in front of the Coleman A Young Municipal Center.

The purpose of this rally is to protest once again the safety and welfare of our members who are continuously being victims of assaults while performing there duties as a City of Detroit Transit Equipment Operators. T.E.O.s.

DDOT service is in disrepair and the public is fed up and taking out there frustrations on the Drivers, DDOT has retain and paid a private firm to improve DDOT service and as of today service is not improved. Furthermore DDOT has paid the Detroit Police Department to provide protection and DPD and Chief of Police Craig are not providing the service they have been paid to do. We have requested DPD to meet with ATU to discuss this issue to no avail.

As a result of DDOT operators being afraid and concerned for their safety, Bus service on Monday October 21st will be interrupted. We suggest DDOT passengers should seek alternate transportation.

ATU will be holding a press conference on Monday October 21st at 9:00 AM Questions will be allowed. The address of the conference is;

716 Lothrop Avenue, Detroit MI 48202
