There is a Winter Storm Watch that will go into effect Tuesday morning and last through Wednesday morning for all of southeast Michigan.

The snow will start late Tuesday morning and last until mid-morning on Wednesday. Around Detroit and areas to the west and south there will most likely be 2″ to 4″ by the end of the evening commute Tuesday – with less to the northeast.

Overnight Tuesday we’ll have heavy snow. Most areas will end up with 6″ to 10″ by mid-morning Wednesday. It is likely that many schools are expected to close Wednesday and the commute will be very bad.

Winds will pick up on Wednesday, originating from the northwest and it will blow around the snow. That will make drifts and keep the roads slick. Temperatures will be in the mid 20s during the snow storm.
