LITTLE ROCK- — In Little Rock Arkansas where the Little Rock 9 fought to desegregate schools in 1957, schools once again have a segregation problem.

Three school districts in Arkansas today are fighting for provisions that came from the struggle of the Little Rock 9.

Tremaine Davis’ conviction comes one day after his mother, Tarranisha Davis, was found guilty of second-degree murder as well. Prosecutors said 35-year-old Davis drove her son to the Considine Little Rock Family Life Center on Oct. 8 and opened the hood of her vehicle where he then retrieved a hidden revolver. If convicted, they could both spend life behind bars without parole. Tremaine Davis will be tried as an adult.
