New “Detroit 1-8-7″ Show Worries City Politicians

DETROIT — Some Detroit City Council members say they’re concerned that an upcoming ABC Network drama will propagate a negative image of the city as dangerous and crime-ridden, and has asked the show’s producers to attend an upcoming council meeting to discuss it.

REACTION On Warren Evans: Media’s Most Wanted Man or The Man That Wanted The Media The Most?

Now that we have all had time to reflect on the most recent media frenzy with Warren Evans we have all probably formed our opinions about the matter. I now question his sincerity and think this only lets the community down in typical political fashion in the like of many Detroit top officials.

I now ask you Detroit, are you ready to be more proactive and ‘grassroots’ about tackling the issues, embracing the positives and grow in our neighborhoods?

Grandma Charged With Killing Son’s Girlfriend With Ax In Detroit

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – Police in the small Detroit enclave of Highland Park are investigating what a neighbor described as the bloody ax slaying of a 26-year-old Detroit woman in her boyfriend’s home.

Mila Perry’s body was found Monday inside the two-story wood-frame house not long after police arrested a woman described by witnesses as the mother of Perry’s boyfriend and grandmother of their 3-year-old son.

The woman’s name and age were not released

Crime Lab May Return, But Under The State Police

A plan announced in June to convert the old MGM Grand Detroit casino into a new police headquarters includes plans to build a state-of-the-art crime lab there. This time, the lab would be staffed, not by city police, but rather by the Michigan State Police.
