Good evening Mildred, It is a pleasure that I can communicate with you. My granddaughter Dezarae Dixson has been attending Detroit Public Schools since kindergarden. She was always attained the Valid Victorian with a 4.0. She is now in the 4th grade in which she was attending Cooke’s Elementary School located on Puritan in Northwest Detroit. She won a spot as well as other students from her school to participate in The STATE WIDE CHAMPIONSHIPS-
for ACADEMIC GAMES. Dezarae won 3 awards herself last year in the State wide championship which was hosted in Grand Rapids. She had to be put on another team because the teams were uneven, since she was the youngest on her team from her school they allowed her to participate with another school in which they did not want her to because of her age. But guest what happened? Dezarae caused their school to win the Championship for the first time as long as they had been participating and she won 3 medals herself. But this year Cooke Elementary won the STATE WIDE ACADEMIC CHAMPIONSHIP under the direction of Ms. Thomas which was hosted in Grand Rapids on March 11, 2010. Ask Mr. Robert Bobb if he would go over to their school and acknowledge our Detroit Public School and teachers for doing a fine job with our children since they are classified as the underprivileged and uneducated by our DPS teachers. Since Monday, March 15, Dezarae had to transfer to Southfield elementary school due to a housing issue with their
Detroit home. I asked her if she liked the school and she said that the only reason she likes it is because she have library and it has “lOTS OF BOOKS”. She love to read..

I just wanted to share that story with Mr. Robert Bobb, since he wants to rob our teachers of their diginity and character. How can you say that your concerns are for our children. If Governor Granholm don’t care about the well being of truly underpriviledge children and then most assurely she would give less than a penny for our priviledge children, that was her purpose in looking for someone like Mr. Bob. If her heart was with our children she would not have appointed Mr. Bobb to take control of our Detroit Public Schools where as he would not have to answer to the citizens and taxpayers of Detroit. That is considered “A scheme, A trick, Fraud, (lied to them as to the intend use of funds)which is punishable under the court of law. These are words that are on our unemployment papers and DHS paperwork when you apply for assistance. We the citizens of Detroit elected her because she swore in ‘UNDER OATH’ with her slogan “NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND”. She has been in office for 8 years and over 100 schools have been closed. Families have moved out of state because of the conditions as a whole in our city. Our city looks like ghost town. Our children are dishearted, they have been forced in a state of mind that they are useless, helpless and there is no hope, but to live on promises. But yet they are still begging the government for billion and billions of funds for chartered schools. Why have it not been broadcasted and brought to the citizens as to what happen to the

There is a column in it that starts off with saying. He has since extended his mission to improve the system’s academic performance and oversee fixing school buildings badly in need of repair. Gov. Graholm has called Bobb “fearless” in his approach and said that Bobb’s “zero tolerance approach is exactly what the doctor ordered for Detroit Public Schools.” What a statement to make. I always thought when you go to the doctor and he/she “LISTENS” to your problems, the doctor then knows that with his compassion and the love of their position as a “DOCTOR” as she stated it is his job to get you well, with the right prescriptions; not give you medication that he knows won’t cure your problems, but send you to an EMERGENCY ROOM doctor where he puts you in a room and amputate your legs and arms, so you are left helpless,and hopeless and noone can do or say anything about it because this Emergency doctor is “fearless” in his approach,” and his “zero tolerance approach” is exactly what Dr. Graholmn ordered for Detroit Public Schools.

An article in The Freepress, dated 2/09/10 pg, 6 says that Granholm
was against universal preschool,in which EVERY child in the state would be able to attend preschool under government funding. She cut out state run programs this school year. An opportunity that’s vital to our children from the beginning, in order to get them in the race as they move forward from A-Z.

I think the FBI needs to come in and do a “FORENSIC AUDIT” of Governor (DOCTOR) Graholm. She has gotten ???? for all types of programs that we don’t know anything about. There was money for those receiving unemployment benefits to help pay your utilities bills,but you were steered away from using it through The Salvation Army because I was told it didn’t pay that much.
