WCHBNewsDetroit.com pays homage to the freedom rallies of the 60’s by encouraging listeners to ‘Get on The Bus’ with announcer Mildred Gaddis.
WCHBNewsDetroit.com heavyweight journalist, Mildred Gaddis will be making her way to South Carolina this week ahead of Martin Luther King Day celebrations on Monday, January 18, 2010. However, this MLK Day will bring with it rallies by over 7,500 protesters that oppose the confederate flag placed at the South Carolina Capitol Building.
This is a renewed call to remove the battle flag, seen by some as a symbol of hate and by others as a form of heritage- from state grounds.
Gaddis will take her no nonsense approach to deliver the characteristic, hard-hitting interviews and reports she is celebrated for. As the only radio outlet with a place at the rallies, WCHBNewsDetroit.com is confident that Gaddis will leave no stone unturned in her special live coverage from 6:00-10:00AM on Monday, January 18th.
The national president of the NAACP, Benjamin Jealous will be the featured speaker at the event. Other celebrities expected to be in attendance include: Usher Raymond IV, Hill Harper, Edward Norton, Tracee Ellis Ross, Emmitt Smith and Reverend Al Sharpton.
Get On The Bus with Mildred Gaddis:
An exclusive coach bus with WCHBNewsDetroit.com listeners will leave the city of Detroit on Sunday, January 17, 2010 for the South Carolina MLK Day rallies. Spaces are filling up quickly but there are still limited seats available.
