Police in southwest Detroit are investigating the murder of a man found shot to death behind a local bar early today.

The man, whom police have not identified, was found at 4:09 a.m. behind Los Compadres, 1132 Lawndale St., and appeared to be in his 40s, Detroit Police spokesman John Roach said.

He had suffered gunshot wounds to the head and neck and was dead at the scene, near the Springwells exit off I-75, Roach added.
