Protect Your Care and Senator Hood to Hold

Town Hall on Affordable Care Act

DETROIT — State Senator Morris Hood III (D- Detroit) will be hosting a town hall meeting on the Affordable Care Act in partnership with MI Protect Your Care, AARP Michigan and MICHUHCAN.  The Health Care Marketplace Exchange has begun enrolling uninsured people beginning this passed October 1st, with their insurance beginning January 1, 2014. Other key provisions of the Affordable Care Act also go into effect on January 2014.  But many people still do not understand the law and how to work the Marketplace Exchange. This town hall meeting will enable local residents to get expert answers to health care questions especially in light of all the misinformation that is being spread. All area residents are encouraged to attend, including the uninsured, seniors and small business owners.
