Mootown Ice Cream & Dessert Shoppe
“Where ice cream dreams come true”
Mootown Ice Cream & Dessert Shoppe, founded by sisters Chris & Kim Kelley, who each wanted to start and own a business in Detroit, specifically Detroit Eastern Market. After many discussions and heated debates as to what this business should be, together they decided to launch the first ice cream shop ever to be located in the Eastern Market district.
We were adamant about supporting and serving a local made ice cream. In our long and tedious search our palettes landed on Hudsonville Ice Cream Company, our decision was unanimous!
”We have a true partnership, they believe in us and we believe in them. “
We created a plan, which included our belief; to put love, family and teamwork first, and success will follow! Our focus is on creating an exceptional customer experience, to continuously improve our offerings, enhance our customers’ experience and serve as model of excellence in how we treat our employees, our customers, our community, and each other with respect.
We carry 20 flavors of ice cream, and extensive lineup of toppings including Saunders Hot Fudge, offering our customers unlimited options to create their own shakes, sundaes and dessert delights, as well as our sundae staples like Paradise Valley, Double Decker Sundae. “Our customers are only limited by their imagination”. Our menu also includes daily specials such as offer homemade soups, authentic tacos and quesadillas.
