24-HOUR MAJOR CRIME SUMMARY REPORT

May 17, 2013 – 6:01 a.m. to May 18, 2013 – 6:00 a.m.

NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.

Friday, 05/17/13 – 4:30 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 500 block of Chene, the suspect entered the dwelling and sexually assaulted the female victim, 31.  She was listed in good condition.

 

WANTED:

Suspect:  Black male, 30’s, 5 feet 7 inches; 180 lbs; wearing all black clothing.

Friday, 05/17/13 – 10:35 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

At Gilchrist and Thatcher, the male victim, 18, was talking to the suspect who physically assaulted him.  The suspect took personal property and an undisclosed amount of U. S. currency, and escaped in a vehicle (red, 1990, Pontiac Grand Prix).  The victim was not injured.

 

WANTED:

Known suspect:  Black male, 20’s; 5 feet 7 inches; dark complexion; clean shaven; wearing tan shorts; orange shoes and armed.

Friday, 05/17/13 – 2:10 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 4000 block of Hereford, the suspect was involved in a verbal altercation with the male victims, 46 and 30.  The suspect then retrieved a weapon, and fired shots, striking them in their bodies. Victim #1 (46) was listed in critical condition.  The second victim #2 was listed in temporary serious condition.

 

ARRESTED:

Suspect:  Black male, 84.

Friday, 05/17/13 – 6:05 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

At Christiancy and Junction, the suspects were involved in a verbal altercation earlier in the day with the male victims, 18 and 16.  The suspects returned to the location in a vehicle (silver, Chrysler Concord) and fired shots, striking them in their bodies. They were listed in critical conditions.

 

WANTED:

Suspects:  Three to five males; and one or more were armed.

Friday, 05/17/13 – 9 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 1100 block of Lawrence, a verbal altercation occurred between the female victim, 40 (Aunt), and the male suspect, 50.  He produced a weapon and fired shots, striking the victim, and then himself.  Both are deceased.

 

Saturday, 05/18/13 – 1 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

At Plymouth and Southfield, as the male victim, 22, was walking, he was approached by the suspect, who fired shots. The victim was struck in the body and listed in temporary serious condition. (Shooting did not occur at the local gas station).

WANTED:

Suspect:  Black male, 20’s, braids, wearing a white tee-shirt and armed.

Saturday, 05/18/13 – 1:45 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

At Cicotte and Otis, the male victim, 17, heard shots and felt pain.  He received a gunshot wound to the body and was listed in temporary serious condition.

Saturday, 05/18/13 – 3 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 6000 block of W. Outer Drive, the male victim, 24, walked into the local hospital with a gunshot wound to the body. He was listed in good condition, and refused to provide details pertaining to this incident.

Unknown suspect:  Armed.

Saturday, 05/18/13 – 3:40 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 100 block of Michigan Ave., the male victim, 40, received a gunshot wound to the body, during a verbal altercation when the suspect fire shots.  He was listed in good condition.

 

ARRESTED:

Suspect:  Black male, 39.

This incident is being investigated by Criminal Investigations (Telephone number: 313-596-1340).

 

Saturday, 05/18/13 – 4:04 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 19000 block of Albion, the female victim, 30, was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect (husband) when he fired a shot inside the home.  The victim fled to a neighbor’s home and called police.  After a brief standoff, the suspect surrendered without incident and the weapon was recovered.  No one was injured.

 

ARRESTED:

Suspect:  Black male, 45.

Tuesday, 05/14/13 – 5:45 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 11600 block of Morang, the female victim, 59 went outside because she observed the suspects near her vehicle.  A suspect threatened the victim, and she went back inside the location.  The suspect escaped in the victim’s vehicle (2012 black buick Regal).  The victim was not injured.

 

WANTED:

Suspect #1: Black male; 20s; wearing a red hat; scarf over the lower part of his face; dark shirt; dark pants; and armed.

Suspect #2-#4:  Black males

CIRCUMSTANCES:

At W. Seven Mile and Ferguson, the male victim, 15, was approached by the suspect who produced a weapon and fired a shot. The victim was struck in the body, and listed in temporary serious condition.

Suspect #1:  Black male, teens, and armed.

Suspect #2:  Black male; six feet; wearing a dark sweatshirt with a hood and dark clothing.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 5000 block of French, the male victim (John Doe) was discovered in front of the location deceased.  The victim appeared to have received a gunshot wound.  The circumstances pertaining to this incident are currently unknown.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

At Plymouth and Evergreen, the male victim, 38, was involved in a physical altercation with the suspect who produced a weapon and fired a shot. The victim was struck in the body and listed in good condition.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

At Ohio and Schoolcraft, the male victim,  25, was outside when he heard shots and felt pain.  The victim received a gunshot wound and was listed in temporary serious condition.

Suspect:  Black male; six feet; light complexion; braided hair; and armed.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 18900 block of Santa Barbara, the male victim, 69, was exiting his vehicle when he was approached by the suspect who demanded his vehicle.  The suspects escaped in the victim’s vehicle (2004, silver, Nissan Sentra).  The victim was not injured.

 

WANTED:

Suspect #1:  Black male; 20s; dark brown complexion; wearing a light colored sweatshirt with a hood; and armed.

Suspect #2:  Black male; 20s; dark brown complexion; wearing a light color shirt and pants.

Saturday, 05/18/13 – 11:40 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 8100 block of Fenkell, the female victims, 19, 20 and 18, were approached by the suspect who announced a robbery.  When one victim (19), began to run, the suspect produced a weapon and fired a shot.  The victim received a gunshot wound and was listed in temporary serious condition.  The suspect fled with the victims personal properties.

 

WANTED:

Suspect: Black male; 20s; five feet six inches; 145 lbs; dark complexion; wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood; dark pants and armed.

Sunday, 05/19/13 – 12:30 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 11600 block of E. Seven Mile, the male victim, 53, was at  a local gas station when the suspect entered his vehicle and ordered him to exit.  The suspect escaped in the victim’s vehicle (2012, Kia Soul).  The victim was not injured.

 

WANTED:

Unknown suspect:  Armed.

Sunday, 05/19/13 – 3:30 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 4400 block of 14th Street, the female victim, 32, was inside the location when the suspect fired a shot striking the victim.  The victim has died.  The suspect fled from the location.

Suspect: Black male; armed.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

In the 900 block of Glynn Court, the male victim, 26 received a gunshot wound when the suspect produced a weapon and fired shots during an argument with someone else. The victim was listed in good condition.
