24-HOUR MAJOR CRIME SUMMARY REPORT
February 5, 2013- 6:01 a.m.to February 6, 2013โ€“ 6:00 a.m.
NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.
Tuesday, 02/05/13โ€“ 10:00 p.m.
In the 11600 block of Littlefield, two male victims, ages 64, and 58, were inside a dwelling, (illegal narcotic location), when the male suspect produced a weapon and fired shots. Both victims received gunshot wounds. The suspect fled from the location.
The first victim (64) has died, and the second victim was listed in stable condition.
Known Suspect: Black male, 50.
This case is being handled by the Homicide Unit (Telephone number: 313-596-2260).
Wednesday, 02/06/13โ€“ 1:50 a.m.
At Dexter and Cortland, the male victim, age 23, was approached by the suspect, who fired a shot during an attempted robbery. The victim received a gunshot wound, and was listed in stable condition.
Suspect: Black male, armed.

Please review the following statements in regards to the attempt prisoner escape:
“Earlier today (Wednesday, February 6, 2013), a patient at St. JohnHospitalthat was in custody of the Detroit Police department attempted to escape through the ceiling of the bathroom in his room. The patient became stuck in the wall between the bathroom and his room. He was quickly located and apprehended by Detroit Police and St. John Hospital security.
At no time were patients, visitors or associates at the hospital in danger.”

“The male suspect, age 19, that was captured at St. John’s Hospital by the Detroit Police was waiting to be arraigned on a six-count felony warrant for a crime, involving a male victim, age 22, that had occurred on January 30 at 4:00 p.m., on the city’s east side. The suspect was charged with Armed Robbery, Assault with Intent to Commit Murder,
Unlawful Imprisonment, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder, Felonious Assault, and Felony Firearms.
Thanks to efforts put forth by members of the Detroit Police Department and the St. John Hospital & Medical Center’s Security Police Department, a dangerous individual has been apprehended. At no time were patients, visitors or associates at the hospital, or members in the community in danger.”
