This Memorial Day, Monday May 28th, the United Supreme Council Northern Jurisdiction of Masons and the Shumake Friends and Family Foundation will brighten the landscape of those in need. They have teamed together to present the “Feed the People: Detroit’s Red Carpet Backyard BBQ”.

This totally free, family-friendly event, to be held at Detroit’s Cass Park, will feature live music, games, entertainment, and plenty of great food grilled to perfection by Southfield’s Beans and Cornbread expert chefs. There will be burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, fresh fruit, a packaged snack and bottled water. Each guest will also take home a bag of non-perishable groceries.

In addition to the United Supreme Council Northern Jurisdiction (Prince Hall Affiliation), and the Shumake Family and Friends Foundation, presenters include Anchor of Love Ministries Food Pantry, Forgotten Harvest, Gleaners, Radio One, DMC Hospital, NAACP Detroit Branch, Transforming Life Group, Detroit Casino Partnership, Trea Day Management and Publicity and others.

Volunteers and additional sponsors are welcome and may contact Event Coordinator, Treavion Davenport at 678-327-8281 or treadaypr@gmail.com.
