Women’s Caring Program celebrates Week of the Young Child™ with Ladies Night Out

WHAT: WCP’s first Ladies Night Out, a fun after-work party celebrating the Week of the Young
Child™ (April 22-28) with wine, appetizers and details about an exciting new initiative to benefit
Michigan children ages newborn to kindergarten.

About WCP
The Women’s Caring Program is a Michigan nonprofit foundation incorporated in 1995 that
provides financial support to children from low-income working families for quality childcare and
early childhood education. WCP’s programs, including the ChildCare Commitment, help working
families who are ineligible for state child care assistance, but don’t make enough to afford
quality, licensed child care and education programs. There are currently more than 50 children
on the ChildCare Commitment’s waiting list. Awards are distributed in Michigan on a statewide
basis and to date have helped families in 73 Michigan counties. For more information, see

About the Week of the Young Child™
The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association
for the Education of Young Children. The purpose of the Week of the Young Child™ is to focus
public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early
childhood programs and services that at meet those needs. The 2012 Week of the Young
Child™ is April 22-28 and the theme is “Early Years are Learning Years.”
