WCHB – Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee announces that Detroit Police will formally charge a suspect in a serial rape case that has gripped the east side of the city with fear for several weeks.

As WCHB confirmed last week, 31-year-old Raynard Coleman has been identified as a suspect in six of seven sexual attacks in the city of Detroit. Coleman is an ex-convict who has been in custody since last week.

Colman’s attorney, James Galen Jr., says Coleman has told police that wasn’t involved in the rapes.
Multiple charges including kidnapping, sexual penetration, criminal sexual conduct and aggravated sexual assault will be filed.
